Funded by the Australian Government Environment Restoration fund ($1,000,000); Strategic and Intensive feral deer eradication (and several other species) to protect native species in critical habitat areas. It covers the area from Jan Juc/Bells Beach to Peterborough, the Great Otway National Park and hinterlands (Otways Region) in South West Victoria.
The Cardinia Creek Deer Coalition provides advice and a conduit for landowners wanting to control deer. Generally using volunteer hunters. CDMC have a grant for $22,000 from the Federal Government Environment Wellbeing fund. The purpose of the grant is to conduct an aerial survey of representative areas of the Cardinia Creek catchment. This has been completed and a report done.
