The Friends of Helmeted Honeyeater have been doing some wonderful, recovery work for this critically endangered bird species based around the Yellingbo Reserve in the Yarra Valley. The project has included work to remove feral deer from key habitat and prevent them from re-entering the area. The video below presents the project and shows the remarkable recovery of the vegetation since the removal of deer. The area is now in a far more healthy state to support the recovery and protection of the Helmeted Honeyeater
