Parks Victoria recommencing feral deer control

News | March 2, 2022

Parks Victoria, and in joint managed parks the Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation, will continue coordinated deer and feral animal control programs in fire-affected areas across Eastern Victoria from September 2021 to June 2022.

A coordinated approach, using a variety of control methods, is being taken to help fire-affected wildlife and habitats recover and to prevent further damage by deer, feral pigs, goats and foxes.
A combination of aerial and ground shooting will be used to target deer, pigs, goats and foxes, and baiting will be used to target pigs in the Snowy River corridor.

The program will be implemented in many parks and reserves in Eastern Victoria.
